The CCA (Centro de Competencias del Agua – Peruvian Water Competence Center) is a multidisciplinary center that articulates the scientific, private and public sectors in order to conduct applied research, technological development, and innovation (R+D+i). It also fosters education and entrepreneurship in the field of integrated, efficient and sustainable water resource management.  The CCA comprises a consortium with the most prestigious research institutions in Peru, companies and business associations from different sectors with interest in water resources. Additionally, the CCA counts with the support of international research institutions from Germany, Australia, Chile, France, USA and Spain with renowned experience in R+D+i on water resources. The CCA capabilities are focused on 4 areas of expertise: technological innovations for water and wastewater treatment; green technologies to ensure water quality; water resources and climate change; and water, the economy and society.   The Water Competence Center - CCA started its activities in May 2013, driven by Peruvian initiatives to promote strategic scientific-technological alliances to boost Peru´s growth by bringing about an increase in competitiveness and enhancing the social dimension through R+D+i activities. In December 2015, the CCA has institutionally been consolidated and registered in the Peruvian Public Registry. 

Nevada’s Water Center of Excellence (COE) is a public-private joint venture formed by GOED (Nevada Governor's Office of Economic Development ) in 2013. The Water COE leverages the expertise of the Desert Research Institute (DRI), the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR), and IBM. GOED, DETR, and DRI are all financial partners and stakeholders in the Water COE. Nevada’s Water COE will be a global leader in water development research and the commercialization of water development technology.
As fresh water becomes increasingly scarce, water resource management and sustainability will be vital to maintaining quality of life and economic development in communities around the world.

Nevada’s Water Center of Excellence  was established to address the problems related with fresh water scarce, water resource management and sustainability, and other water related problems that have direct effect in the maintenance of the quality of life and economic development in communities around the world. With world-renowned experts at the helm, the Water COE is poised to become the leading resource for global and municipal water management and sustainability. Built on advanced computing technology, a shared infrastructure and a common set of resources, the COE leverages the expertise of numerous premier hydrologic science and technology institutions to deliver services in water resource management and big-data analytics.

In order to consolidate the internalization actions developed during the project, on May 17th, 2016, the project organized a meeting with the entities that have signed the ICAs. In this event, these entities presented their own institutions, and they had the opportunity of having a better view of the project and its partners.
